“Where Motherhood Meets Mindfulness”

October has been an absolute blast!
This month, we held our very first retreat at a beautiful golf-themed venue — and it was everything we hoped for and more. Many thanks to our incredible facilitators Yoga Daze, Light as a Feather – Celeste Rios, and our gifted massage therapist Jahala of Hands of Oshun for guiding us through deep stretches, sacred reflection, and soulful touch.

During breakfast, we went around the table and shared what makes each of us special. Every answer rang true — powerful reminders of the beauty and strength that live within us all. There’s nothing more fulfilling than getting to know yourself and understanding how you show up in the world.

We are deeply grateful to the Colorado Health Foundation for sponsoring this retreat and helping us create a day of rest, connection, and rejuvenation for mothers and women in our community. Your support made this vision come to life. 💛

🌿 The 75 Soft Challenge Continues
This challenge is all about bringing soft awareness to our minds, bodies, and spirits. Remember — softness is not weakness; it’s where strength and grace meet. December will be here before we know it, so check out some of our participant testimonials and reflections now live on our new blog: honeykfitnessclub.org.

🤝 Community Connection & Collaboration
This month, I had the opportunity to attend the CHoSEN Forum (Colorado Hospitals Substance Exposed Newborn Quality Improvement Collaborative) alongside the Executive Director of Matrescence. It was deeply inspiring to meet so many organizations doing phenomenal work to support birthing families facing substance use and behavioral health challenges — all with dignity, compassion, and quality care at the center.

🍯 “Sweet Shout-Outs” — Our Community Spotlight!
We love celebrating those adding a touch of sweetness and goodness to our community.

Happy Pop – I recently met the distributor and co-owner of this amazing beverage brand while shopping at Sprouts! These drinks are the perfect energy boost — refreshing, delicious, and without the harsh ingredients you find in typical energy drinks. I look forward to collaborating with them in the future.

🐝 Lela’s Honey – A Black woman– and mother-owned business located in Northfield. Lela and I discovered we were both were students at Howard University — it took a moment, but we remembered where we knew each other from! Lela is doing incredible work as a beekeeper and business owner, sharing her love for nature and her sweet creations with the world.

As I always like to say:

“Summer bodies are built in winter — and prepared minds bloom into a powerful new year.” 🌷

Let’s finish this month with gratitude, grace, and growth.

With love and light,
